I appreciate the support! Currently I am creating new drawings, paintings from drawings, and puppets from paintings! A patron supports the work I’m already creating, so when you interact with my public shows, or event my older works online, I LOVE to rework my ideas in new mediums. I work quickly when I’m working with familiar themes, and I work well with set budgets and freedom!
If there are works of mine that you enjoy I highly encourage you to contact me to collaborate on developing my works further. For example: a patron of mine really enjoyed a piece, but wanted something smaller done as a painting. They set a budget of two hundred dollars and ended up with a well developed and framed acrylic painting small enough to fit in a small hallway but developed enough to capture their eyes and mind each time they pass by it.
If you’re looking to support me as an artist I cannot stress enough that I appreciate people working with me to create new works. So please reach out and get a conversation going:
Muppets and Puppets
I have been turning some of my characters into Muppets and Puppets. These are designed to be interactive sculptures on display, but also serve as “actors” in video content. These projects are time consuming, but very rewarding. These fall into my carving and sculpting lane of work.
A Formal Painting
I often work large on a painting surface to experiment with color, composition and texture. These large works are a lot like a Zen garden for me, and rarely do they get “finished, because it is not their purpose. A formal painting on the other hand is usually a smaller work that is a conversion or reworking of a drawing or former painting intro new, tighter work. Feedback on tone and palette are discussed, but ultimately the nature of creating an exacting piece based on my previous thinking and drawing works well to my strengths, and creates works of impact and the status of “finished”. These works fall into the category of precious items.
Color it Up
Color Pencil, or wax pigment (crayon) provide impactful color and texture and really show the originality of my mark and movements. My drawing base shows through in these works, and express a three dimensionality that includes the charge of color.
The Truer Drafting
I draw a lot, it is a meditative process for me. It involves a great deal of flowing movement, energy, quiets the mind and opens the heart. When working in graphite, similar to the meditative space that carving allows me, I become engrossed and work large or small into great detail. Old sketches transform into structured and developed works.
